Hi,
I recently picked up an unusual item that I know very little about.Its a Blackshirt Automobile Club car badge.Its made from a circular piece of white metal about 3 and a half inches across.The front has "Blackshirt Automobile Club"around the outside and the rear is stamped B.U.F. Property H.M 86.2637 and numbered 89.
Any body ever seen one of these??

Can't say I have, although it doesn't surprise me that the BUF had a motoring club. I'd say that the number 89 is the membership number. Pity the front scan didn't come out.

I think I remember it

from a 'Jeeves and Wooster' episode where Bertie was engaged to the daughter of the BUF.

Yes, it's all coming back to me, right now as I type this!
It was placed directly, and I do mean directly, mind you, on the upper RIGHT portion of the grille. The Bentley was a black one.

Hi Molders, I think I have seen one of these once before? It may even be the very same one, which was for sale on "Tiger Collectables" website here in the UK. I cannot add any historical info unfortunately.
