British Goggles

I got these goggles some years ago. I was under the impression they where for use in armored vehicles because of the springs in the lenses. Are they WWII era? No markings just Made in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1England</ST1.

Well here are my pair. A little bit different but basically the same type of goggles (mine arent marked and are grey). Have seen a photo (cant remember where though) of either a MP or dispatch ridder wearing a pair of these. Problem is, like a few wartime Brit items these would still have been produced after the war with little change to construction. Think they would have been a fairly common bit of kit for the motorcyclist up till the 60’s.
Did you ever see the 1970’s TV comedy George and Mildred? I remember him wearing a pair of these goggles while he rode in the side car at the start of the show.
Hope this has been of some use.
Cheers
Chris
