Mystery Badge

Hi All, I had posted this badge in the Great War Forum and came up empty as to who this badge belonged to. The best we could come up with is that this is a OTC badge or perhaps a Transit badge - bus drivers badge. The quality IMHO is too high for something as pedestrian as a bus drivers hatbadge so I'm hoping an British badge collector might recognize this badge. Any ideas?

A school badge ,a masonic badge ,hospital porters badge ,County council porters cap badge ?in the old days badges were made of a much higher quality .So a Senior bus driver would probably have a superior quality bus badge .It doesnt look military to me .Rob.
