    At last,I got one!

    Hello Everyone!

After many months of searching for a decent example,I got one!

    A P-14 rifle that is!!

Typical story,I remember seeing these at arms fairs a few years ago, priced at around £100,then they seemed to disappear from sale, with only an occasional battered example being offered.

Then, while browsing the last Pudsey fair,I found one,not cheap, but in excellent condition with all matching numbers,so, I had to have it as part of my Home Guard collection!

It's a Winchester made example,a Mark I *,from 1917,with British acceptance marks, and also British export marks(lots of these were sold off as surplus after WW2).

It also has the remains of the long range volley sights, these were removed in Spring 1939 under a process known as the Weedon Repair Standard, guns converted under this process were marked on the bottom of the pistol grip with a six pointed star and a letter, the letter indicating which factory had performed the process,in this case, the factory/company is Skimin & Wood, who converted 41,331 rifles.

    OK,that's enough waffle from me!
    I'll show the pictures now!

    Kind regards,
    Andy
