    Airborne Mortar

That looks to me to be a 2inch "Airborne" mortar.

The leg bag should have a "hanging loop" made of webbing on the top where the 15 foot drop down rope was attached.

Hi Gary, Yes, the bag has indeed a loop to atatch a rope, the clip for the rope is in the bag. Any idea of value?

      Thank you

        Grandmother

Marc, .. I'll swop my grandmother for it ???????

.. No really ... a nice 2 inch "Airborne" mortar dated with bag and feet etc ... is realistically going to be around the £300 - £350 GBP at least !!

        .. Anyhow ... My grandmother .......... ??????

(Also the quick release clips are not easy to come by, .. normally they fetch around £25.00 GBP on their own .... is it a metal or bakelite body on the clip ?)

        Regards

        Gary J.

Hi Marc, just wondering what happened to this one? Did you buy it/sell it?

This drop case was declared obselete in May 1946. It carried Army stores reference number A.A.5380.

          Cheers, Ade.
