      Hi Ken & everyone,

I have an SAS Battledress with a pair of small pegasus. I think they are different to the examples already shown but similiar. I will take photos tomorrow and post them up for everyone. I think I posted loose small pegasus patches at the start of this thread? which came from an SAS veteran. I think they just cut them down themselves? Marc B who has been collecting SAS LONG before me has a theory that maybe they made the pegasus smaller to make it seem like a more special badge? I think it could be true, who knows.

Looking forward to see the pictures Des, something good you are going to show us I'm sure!

Marc, that is one of the best off-topic posts I have seen, keep it coming my friend.

It is my experience too that embroidered patches were cut down, would it be a good idea to show a picture of a patch with a ruler on top so we can compare our own? Just to see if they were made smaller or just cut down?
        Metric please, not imperial.
        Cheers, Luc

            Hi Chaps,

It's just a thought But I have seen photos of these smaller patches being worn by officers on service Dress. Could this be what they are meant for or do you just think It's coincidence.
            PS, Boss photo Marc

            Yours, Guy.

                  Super blouse Des!
Is that title a slip on? Or is it my poor eye sight?

                    Hi Luc,

Thanks the BD was bought by me direct from the veterans family. The SAS title is actually sewn to the shoulder strap. Although the SAS did not follow regulations too closely I don't think things were that laid back? I believe the veteran removed the title from the arm at one point post war and then resewed it back on the shoulder strap. I don't know why he did this and I can't unfortunately ask him because he passed away many years ago. The SAS title from the other side is missing as is the cloth para wing. Ghostly outlines of where the parawing and titles were originally are evident. I have contemplated restoring the jacket in the past but I think it might be best to keep it as received from the family. I have only added the metal para wing to the breast but that is merely for display purposes and did not belong to the same guy.

                      Hi Des,
I agree, you can only speculate when the title was put there.
Gladly you kept it the way it is, it's a great historic piece and there is no real need for changing it.

                      Cheers, Luc
