Hi Des,
I think you are probably right. Some books say late war and some post. I kept them in the collection as they had a nice provenance.
The RR beret that charles shows used to belong to me. It is a beret industries piece with a Rough Riders collar dog as a badge.
Look forward to seeing you at Belters Mate,
Yours, Guy.

Des,
I thought the "Paratroops Regiment" title was a variation. You are right, no one has mentioned it either way.
I like you SAS beret. Can I see the rest of it?

No one else mentioned this but whats the story with the "Paratroops Regiment" title? Is that not bad?
Charles, Can you post a photo of the inside of your beret please.

Jack,
I got all of the cloth from a fellow who has collected for a long time and obtained these titles years ago. I thought all was real myself. You men know better.

I love that pair of embroidered Pegasus patches Des! Very sexy weave
The "Paratroop Regiment" shoulder title was an early short lived thing that was quickly changed to "Parachute Regiment". Only encountered in embroidered. Quite scarce too.

India Pegasus
Has anyone got any other "different" types of printed India formation badges?
This seems to be the typical style, however in photographs, there is a printed example that matches the sharpness and detail of those made in the UK. They are made with the same drill canvas material, the word India is also sharper. These I have seen in pictures of Ghurka's and a few shots of RAMC guys. Many many moons ago I did'nt like these India patches (pictured) because the quality was so crappy and when you get them uncut the printing process used seems labour intensive and actually quite stupid. But then, they start appearing on tunics? so obviously they were made, and made that way, meaning printed as individual pairs unlike the UK made ones which were stamped out of sheets.
Anyway if anyone has any variation on the printed type would to see it.
BTW- Has anyone got any of the thinner letter-d AIRBORNE Strip designations. I am in need of a photo of one. It is basically the same as the ones posted here only thinner lettering?
Thanks
Ken
