      My small Airborne museum

      Hi there chaps,
here are some stills from my Airborne collection.
I must say that i have a few repro items in my collection as i haven't come across the originals yet.
The Legbag is made out of old ww2 webbing, the paratrousers are repro.
To the next of my knowlidge every thing is original, all of my Airborne insignia comes from the U.K. and Commonwealth.
A lot of insignia was once Jack's , had the pleasure of meeting Guy and bought some insignia from him, and another chap.
My speciality is 1st Airborne at Arnhem/Oosterbeek battle.
I am also busy writting a book on the 11th Parachute Battalion.
      Hope you enjoy my collection.

To my horror i found out that my Pegasus Patches and Airborne strips were Pegasus Militaria made.
So i stripped the Border BD of the Border titles as i think they are definatly post war, and the fake insignia!
Thankfully all was sorted out with the seller and i got refunded with the originals!
I will turn this BD in to a R.A.S.C., more will follow in a while!

                  Sorry chaps,
                  Cain

My favourite bd, the left pegasus comes from Arnhem vet Dave Morris CSM 11th Parachute Battalion, the other parachute reg bd has his jumpwing.

Very nice I can really appreciate the effort, time, money and sweat that goes into putting mannequins like that together. Is your X type original?

Have to thank JDR for a lot of good advice and allways a pleasure dealing with him!

Learned a lot from you mate!!
My next mannequin to finish is a 2nd Trooper from the Border battalion, same insignia as on the 1st BD except for the Border titles, these will be of the 4th variation, if these are late war or imidiate post war is not fully known to me.
All of the other items are dated or stamped with the W/D stamp broad arrow etc.
You can visit my collection online at http://www.geocities.com/arnhemoosterbeek1944
Sorry for the adds but for now this will have to do untill i get a proper site!!

                                Cheers,
