Wow £785 for these ,I cant see anything super rare in there ,but I suppose if you sell them all individually you could make a few hundred quid profit . But thats a lot of dosh .I didnt want to mention it earlier just in case someone here was bidding .Rob.

It looks to me like the best items have already been removed on the section to the right.

I have seen a few nurses capes with Div signs stitched onto them. One of the best examples is the museum at Norte (think thats the correct spelling) Fort in Weymouth.

Looking at this one I dont think its worth that. But it just goes to show that the best way to sell a collection of cloth on Ebay is to bulk it all into one lot!

Yes, I enjoyed following this item through eBay. I knew it would go for this amount of money, and in my opinion, it is still a very good buy. However, a lot of money to put into one item. The buyer has paid what? Roughly, £10 per badge? Most would sell for double, I'm guessing, and the rarer ones for more.

It would be nice to see this historical item remain in one piece but I think this is being a bit unrealistic. Unless you're a rich collector of British cloth (Garth ), collecting across all formations, then it would be hard not to split it up knowing a good profit could be made and the few pieces that you found interesting kept for the collection. Who's to say they weren't sewn on fairly recently? I guess a hands on examination would be required to answer that one. Just my thoughts.

Jack, Thanks mate I didn't realize I was rich. I followed this one for awhile and thought 300-325 quid would have been the closing price. There are a few good badges but some of the better ones are in pretty sorry condition. Quite a few of them are pretty common and I don't think the winner will get a tenner apiece for them which basically is what he paid but I could be wrong. Nice started collection although.
