    More Badges.

    Hi Chaps,

I have just come across some more badges. Some were purchased from the same collection as those I showed the other day and others I have had for a while. Same drill as last time, all are for sale so feel free to contact me if you would like to.

First up is a really nice little DLI grouping comprising cap badge, collar dogs, WW1 shoulder title, official white on scarlet shoulder title and the semi official yellow on rifle green one. I hope you like them.

Again very nice badges Guy, the DLI group is really awesome!

I noticed the Staffordshire badge has a different construction then mine where the brass scroll isn't simply attached under the whitemetal rope like yours. It has a brass scroll on top of a whitemetal scroll (hope this makes sense):

Common on a lot of badges for different units - some had metals overlaid, others did'nt.

Nice items Guy. I look forwards to seeing them on the E Stand.

                  Cheers, Ade.

Ah, that's the word I was looking for! So it is just a makers variation and not a valuable clue to tell good from repro?

Not really, though it's sometimes a clue to the age of a badge that was in use for a long time, along with whether it's got loops or sliders, sweat holes in the overlaid metal etc, but I don't know a lot about that sort of thing.
There is a dealer who seperates his badges into a subsexction of pre - 1911 with loops, but I don't know how that works.
