    Air Sea Rescue Badge

Hi guys, I'm hoping I can get some feedback on this badge. An old RCAF buddy of mine told me when you see a blue badge with ASR on it buy it! So I did, along with a handfull of Canadian Special Air Service badges. I bought oll the stuff because I had never seen any of it before (my Spider Senses were tingling) and the price was ok. Well, my so call "spider senses" must have been some wild form of dispepsia - all the SAS stuff was fake. What about this badge? Be gentle.

There were 2 of these on ebay the other day one fake and one real both started at about the same time which was bizzare .I tried bidding on the real one but my bid didnt register on the richoter scale .Yours looks like it has been embroidered on the wrong coloured cloth .So I would give it the thumbs down .Rob.

      The real one below.

Mdern looking felt, does'nt have that slightly threadbare look & visible weave of the originals. Or am I wrong there?

0 for 10 - the whole lot is fake. Well, what can I say but I've learned 2 things - collect what you know (and love)and don't buy after a spicy meal!. I'll post the Canadian SAS stuff as an FYI to the fraternity this weekend.

HELLO STEVE , at first glance i like your A.S.R patch , i like the detail , weave backing colour etc , only snag is this was one of the first cloth badges that was reproduced in the 1970`s so even them badges are 30odd years old ,
i do like the look of it but there are better qualified `cloth men ` than me on the forum who could give you a better opinion .
                  thanks for showing ,Michael.
