Albert Medals in Gold - Land

Is there any listing that shows winners of the Albert Medal in gold?

I just acquired this, don't have it yet but am quite excited.

Hi David,

To answer your question,yes,there is a book which lists the recipients of the Albert Medal in gold.

It's called 'Heroic Endeavour',a complete register of the Albert,Edward and Empire Gallantry medals and how they were won, by D.V. Henderson,G.M.

Published in 1988.

If you'd like to give me some details I can look it up for you.

I imagine it will be a fairly easy group to identify. How many naval long service groups with Africa General Service medal, Polar Medal, and AM could there be? I'll be interested to see the results.

First I will wait until the group arrives. I want to make sure this isn't 'put together'. Truth be told it looks too good to be true.

A quick scan through the book reveals that only 45 first class (land) were awarded.

Of all the first class awards only 18 were to those in the forces,and of these,only 3 were awarded to Naval personnel.
