Brit tank badge - opinions ??

    Hey Guys,

The Brit items are not my thing, so any opinions are most welcome. I have a chance to pick this up for $15. Thanks in advance!!

Looks okay but hard to tell.

I've never come across this badge with a slider, only ever loop fittings.
Others may know more re the fittings?

The genuine items sell in UK for about the equivalent of $11 - $13.

Hi Jim, like Leigh I cannot say I have ever seen an original with a slider type fitment.

          Cheers, Ade.

I have one with the slider maker marked 'Buttons Ltd. B'ham', can't vouch for it's authenticity, though it doesn't set off any alarms. All my others (6) have loops. The two WW1 example have sliders which I believe is correct.

How recent is "Buttons Ltd"? I did'nt think they were a partivcularly old outfit?

I believe they were in Portland Street during WW1 so a KC RTR badge should certainly be a possibility.

                  Hello,

Still waiting on photos. Here's part of the description:

Royal Tank Regiment KC Cap Badge, Scarce Maker

Slider, Buttons Ld. B'Ham. Guaranteed genuine.

Hi Jim, do you have a pic of the back?
I have a few badges in my collection where the slider has been unofficially added. So this may be one of those. But generally the Tank Badge had a two-lug rear.

                      Rob,

Iagree with your comments, all my other Tank badges have lugs bar the WW1 examples. Here's a shot of the back, it's definitely been brazed rather than silver soldered.
