Vet's Blazer Buttons or Issue?

I just picked up this boxed set of buttons and am wanting to know if they were worn on a uniform or if these are private purchase to be sewn by a veteran on to a blue blazer.
Also, could someone thell me what the going rate for these might be? Is there any interest among collectors?
