    Please help identify these 2 pieces of WW2 insignia: Australian?

    Can anyone identify these 2 pieces of insignia? They came from a WW2 U.S. Pacific Theater vet. His son stated that the vet had some R & R in New Zealand during the war and probably got them from an Australian or New Zealand soldier. The piece of insignia that looks like paratrooper wings has what looks like RAAF stitched on it. Royal Australian Air Force perhaps?

    You are correct. These are both qualification badges for the Royal Australian Air Force. Based on the crown and style of stitching, they date from WW2. The badge with two wings is for a pilot. The badge with the 'o' is for Observer. To view more of these wings go to either of these two sites:
