Interesting that he served in Palestine and then moved to Scotland to join the paras. Not terribly uncommon for the early 2nd Corps chaps to transfer out. I have some documents and relating bits to a couple of fellows that did just that.
I love the fact that he was an MP as well. Tough as nails they were. Didn't take anyones business from what I've been told. All in all he sounds like a remarkable man.
