Some British Cap Badge help please

I'll be posting alot of badges I really know nothing about and can't find any reference too. I aquired most of these unknown ones from Dad, who got them as youth in the early part of the last war, some also came from his father who was an officer in the cavalry during the first war.

I then in turn added to it, with cap badges I bought for a couple of decades or more. None of this modern Brit crap though from when I was in the army.

My reference is sparse and very old, mostly drawn pictures and no photo's of them. and every time I go on the net, I just dealer sites come up, and half their badges are junk, anyone know any good Brit cap badge sites ?

These ones came from Dad, I'm not sure about the Cyclist Corp badge though, I could have sworn I bought that with a named trio to a ACC guy......so maybe this ones a duff badge then ???

I've hundreds of these, most I know or are named........would you guys please help on the others if possible.

    Kr

Really not sure if this is genuine or not ? Dad swears he gave it to me.......but I'm not sure, I think I have two anyway of these, with differnt numbered spokes if I remember and I think one of them was good the other......it looks good, not like the fakes, but different number of spokes ????

This is an Irish one of what was my Dads, Dad of which I several, Dads father was wounded and sent to Souhtern Ireland so as not to upset the people back at home ......he also couldn't write home that he'd been wounded either, he was seriously wounded in late 1915 and the only survivor and non captured member of his charge, the Germans left him for dead !!!

Could this help date the badge ? Or does it even tie in ?

              Hi Marcus,

The third one is of the Royal Munster Fusiliers, disbanded 1922. Looks to be a good badge as the beast is slim around the torso (?) and not bloated as found on the restrikes. The Army Cyclist Corps came with either twelve or sixteen spokes and this is the first unvoided one other than mine that I've seen. Can't help with the Military Foot Police.

                  Hi Marcus
Re the Military Foot Police. The only reference I can find is in Kipling & King and reads
"In 1885 the military police was divided in to the military mounted police and the military foot police and these remained separate until 27 February 1926 when they were merged into one corps under the title Corps of Military Poilice"
Hope this is of some help

Keith: Can you post your cyclist badge if possible?

                  Regards

Kipling & King state that the Militry Foot Police badge was all in gilding metal, could be they've made a typo?

The lack of voiding to the Army Cyclist Corps presumably indicates that it's a WWI brass economy issue - other well known unvoided brass issues include the RE & the RA.

The MFP & the Munsters look okay to me, I'm not sure about the Army Cyclist Corps badges shown, I'm a bit sus of the "black", particularly on the first one shown.
I'm not definite on there being anything wrong with them, I just can't go firm with an opinion from photos.

Hows this one look, I believe these are faked heavily, I obtained this from the vet, who cleaned it before giving it to me, he insisted on doing that.
