Black Light Test- Not Not Reliable

I am posting these for another member, who will chime in shortly. It illustrates why the black light test is a false one.

Some period items glow under UV. Whites are difficult becasue of the broad range of glows and there is no way to measure the luminance of a material. Sometimes it can be used to detect obvious fakes but generally it is a neutral test and can give false negatives. Better tests exist.

Just another tool in the box with experience, none are 100% but can be useful.
