    NEBELTRUPPEN new book

This book shows a large variety of uniforms, headgear and insignias worn by Nebeltruppen between 1934 and 1945.

Those items come from private collections in USA and Europa.

Their chronological presentation is supported by many period pics and documents of different kinds, displays, and comments illustrating the initial organization, missions, growth and evolution of tactical use in combat of this particular branch of the Heer.

    140 pages, 35 €, in french.

NB : You need to use this specific link if you wish to order it directly to the french editor :

    https://histoireetcollections.com/fr...allemande.html

Otherwise it will be avaible on specialised sites, and as usual on amazon etc...

I agree, he obviously doesn't want to sell many of what looks like a good book. Odd to post on an English speaking forum

          Hi,

I received my copy today. An excellent and attractive book - high quality colour photos of uniforms, insignia, hats etc and relevant black and white period photos. It doesn't really matter that it is in French since you can pretty much work out what the captions are saying, and besides, there is google translate if you need it. Well done Chris.

          regards

Looks like a great book. Will not buy it though since it's in French. I really wonder why the writer limits himself by releasing this book in French instead of trying to reach a much wider audience by doing this in English??

Received my copy last week. Fantastic book with some great period pics of Nebeltruppen in the field, in garrison, etc..

The fact that it's only in French is a bit of a bummer, but the pics make up for it in my opinion. The only real criticism I have is that it only covers the Heer with no info or pics on Waffen-SS Nebeltruppen.

Chris (derka), many thanks for allowing me to contribute items and pics to this book.

                    Best regards!

                    Bob

Bob, there are 2 main reasons explaining why the book is only about Heer Nebeltruppe :
                      - at this stage, the non-Heer avaible materials are very seldomly encountered, whatever uniforms, insignias, documents or period pics,
                      - there was a format with maximum number of pages to respect, and in fact many stuff from different provinances collected for the preparation of this book is not shown because of the limited avaible space.

So the case of SS troops wich used specific Granaten- or Raketen-Werfer or Vielfachwerfer is just mentioned in the introduction, same for particular units like GD or HG, or some LW Felddivisions or FJ units, and even few Artillerie Rgt of some Infantrie Divisionen.

Maybe one day a complementary Volume II will be written including thoses areas, or other authors will take their chance to cover the subject.

For the option to maybe produce in the future an english version of this book, it depends of the editor's economical criterias and decision, and i'm not concerned by his publishing strategy.

I just give the information about this book here because some WAF members and me gave their contribution to it.

I can only recommend this very nice book. My father himself was in a Nebelwerfer Regiment in the Baltics and I am very happy to discover so many interesting details on equipment, uniforms, etc... of this branch of the Wehrmacht. Great Job!
