There is a new book released about the 505th PIR 3rd HQ Battalion by Steven Zaley. Based on his father Steven Zaley Sr.’s memoirs. His father made all 4 combat jumps into Europe starting in Sicily. I have had interest in this book being released because Steven Zaley reached out to family members of late 505th PIR veterans. He was particularly interested in talking to my family because his father stated that my uncle (and namesake), George Behary was fighting along side his father in Sicily an is believed to be the the first paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne to be killed in action in WWII.
The book is titled “ They Are Only Gone if They Are Forgotten” and is extremely well done.
