    None But The Brave

    The story of 'Shetlands' Larsen.

He was the leader of the Shetlands Gang, a Norwegian who made 52 successful 1,000 mile crossings from Britain to Norway during the war. He was awarded more decorations by the British Government than any British sailor received.

    A great story well told.

Not in print anymore, but I found it on several used book sites.

His wartime exploits are also covered in the book 'The Shetland Bus' by David Howarth.

I now have both, None But the Brave and The Shetland Bus. The first told from the perspective of the Norwegians, the second from the British.

Great reading about a little known facet of the war against the Axis.

I stood by the statue celebrating Leif Larsen located in Bergen.
