His books are well researched and he uses allot of the soldiers accounts. I enjoy books that dive into the day-to-day accounts from the soldiers perspective.Greg

Stalingrad is an excellent book, I could hardly put it down! I'm 3/4's of the way through Berlin and while there's not as many soldiers accounts it's still a great read. Both books can make grim reading at times though, due to the actual human suffering.
Both are recommended.

I have read the Crete book too, bought the book on Crete at one of the local shops and read it there while on holiday!
This was the first Beevor book I had read and although accurate it is rather based from the British point of view. The book is good in it's descriptions of the events but has less of the soldier's narrative.
Good book for the money, still recommend it.
