    Nazi Occult

What's a good book that deals with the Nazi beliefs in the occult? Something from Nordic beliefs to the Spear of Destiny etc...

    Hi Ken,

I guess this booklet wouldn't cover all the bases on Nazi occultism, but it has a lot of info on SS "religious" beliefs, festivals throughout the year, etc.

      Greg,

Thanks. I'll take a look into it.

        Ken,

There is a three disc DVD set: "The Occult History of the Third Reich".
It was available a couple of years ago. I happen to have an extra set if you're interested -- let me know and you can have it for the cost of postage.

By far the best scholarly work on this is 'The Occult History of Nazism'
            by Nicholas Goodridge-Clarke.

I did a bit of poking around on Amazon last night and saw the book you speak of. It received very good reviews. I'll give that one a go too.
              Thanks Robin.

This would be the entire title correct?

                Ken.

Looks like the same one.......if the author's the same.

Another good one is 'Invisible Eagle' by Alan Baker, published by Virgin Books. That should also be on Amazon. Some of my 'mystic' stuff is photographed in that one.

I can thouroughly recommend the book by Nicholas Goodrick Clarke. It does not contain any of the half researched sensationalism some books rely on. It gives a very good insight into the historical background of the occult movements and philosophies that became infuential in National Socialist thinking.

Suster, G. (1980). Hitler & the Age of Horus is another interesting book that explores the occult aspects to the National Socialism of Hitler. Quite interesting as it places the occultism of Nazism in the broader context of occult/esoteric interests of the broader world population of the time.
                    Regards,
                    Charles

2 older titles which might be of interest for background information and to see how this topic has been dealt with in the past 40 years would be, The Morning of the Magicians and The spear of Destiny by Ravenscroft.

Not exactly scholarly in approach but, again, for a canvass of the literature should be read.

Both titles are easily found on ABE.
