What is the best bio on Monty? Preferably one that would also analyze his generalship and character, not just a straight chronology.

Yes, I would suggest Hamilton's magmum opus. It's been a while since I finished it, but, while he was personally close to Montgomery, he did not shy away from criticism of the FM. Still, a generally quite favorable account of his life.Originally posted by pasoleati View Post
