News or Updates of HBO miniseries Mighty 8th???

Wow this has been kicked around, started stopped, dropped, hush hushed for years now. Does anybody have any NEW news on what was to be HBO miniseries about the USAAF Heavy bombing campaign over Europe during WW2? Sadly there will be no veterans who participated in this campaign left to see it before too long.

Being a big history buff and reading numerous books written by veteran's experiences and also having experienced a flight in a B-17G (Texas raiders)...i was sooo looking forward to a well done miniseries based on actual veteran's stories. Getting the facts straight like the fact that you cant communicate without a intercom system and headphones ...unless your yelling at the top of your lungs within 3ft. of who your wanting to talk to. Or the -40 degree temps...frostbite. Dealing with oxygen issues above 10,000 feet...are just a few things you normally dont see in war movies dealing with heavy bombers in WW2. Guns freezing up, jams...etc...having to repair these weapons while under fire...or dealing with horrific wounds to yourself or buddies. Dealing with seeing rows of bunks being cleaned out after heavy losses...knowing they are MIA...dead or POWs...wondering if your next. Hopefully they can still get on with it and produce this miniseries and be as good as SPR, B of B, or the The Pacific!

ive seen this clip a number of times. I know this was a rough crude clip put together to bait us. But there's all kinds of stuff off in just the clip. First off this mission must not be very high (not 5 miles up)...breathing without O2 masks. Communicating without intercom/headphones. 50 cal. casings dull oxidized brass...not shiny new rounds. Plexiglass covering the waist gun openings (plexiglass was on late war G models) One thing they did get right is the fact they had no helmets or flak vests on.(these came later on copying the brit aircrews) Pilot and co-pilot would freeze to death in the jackets they were wearing. Also there is no top turret...from the bomb bay catwalk you can clearly see the entire cockpit and windscreen. In real life the top turret basket would obscure most of the cockpit. Lastly there would be a terrific wind (-30 to-40 degress) blowing thru the plane due to the bomb bay doors open keeping you from seeing any condensation fog coming from their mouths while breathing.
