I have read the first three volumes of this series. The author knows his subject well and has personally interviewed a number of the people that he writes about during his many years of researching this subject. These books are organized chronologically and the material is presented in the context of the battles and associated divisions at various points in time. The author provides detailed descriptions concerning what these men did to earn a Ritterkreuz. Volume 1 was published back in 2008 and in English, a fact that others may have overlooked. Unfortunately, the publisher has not done well with the photographic aspects of the first three books. Many photos of people suffer from being overly enlarged with a significant loss in resolution and are terrible to look at. Hopefully, the publisher has corrected that shortcoming in Vol. 4

Still awaiting the various proof stages from Schiffer, but hoping their schedule / projections are correct, in that, this will be available before the end of this year.

Volume 5 is being compiled at the moment and will focus on June to August 1944 - a busy time for these soldiers! Still lots to do on this and expect it to take some time yet (like a lot of the other authors, day job and family life all take time too!).

Thanks for the overview John, appreciated and agree with your sentiments on the variable photo quality - impeded by access to decent photos of some of these soldiers.

As John highlights, this ongoing series first began in 2008 and I expect this to finish at either 7, or 8 volumes? Inbetween V3 and V4, focused on the two volume photo history of Kurt Sametreiter, which impeded progress on this WSS RKT series.

Appreciate the ongoing interest in my efforts with this series of books.
      Peter
