For Prince and Country - Awards and Medals of Liechtenstein

    Dear friends and colleagues,

I am happy to announce that I have been hard at work on my next book project. As promised, I stayed away from writing during the summer, but come August the old routines set in. Here are the details on my ongoing project:

For Prince and Country - The Awards and Medals of Liechtenstein

    - A4 format, softcover in English with a 1-page abstract in Finnish
    - A short history of Liechtenstein
    - Princely Order of Merit of Liechtenstein
    - Princely Medal of Merit of Liechtenstein
    - Long-service awards of the Liechtenstein military
    - Prince Johann 50 Year Jubilee Commemorative Medal
    - Prince Franz Josef II 50 Year Jubilee Commemorative Medal
    - Prince Franz Josef II 70 Year Jubilee Commemorative Medal
    - Collector’s word
    - Appendix with bestowal statistics

First draft of the text is in good shape and the gathering of images is proceeding well, with roughly third of the needed material assembled. There will be EU and US editions published as per usual and an E-book edition is planned. My goal is to have the book ready during 2016. I’ve attached the draft cover of the book so you can have an idea what the finished work will look like.

Should you have material (documents, images of recipients and awards, etc.) relevant to the project that you feel should be included, feel free to contact me. For the moment it seems that most of my basic needs will be met via primary sources. I will let you know if I need assistance with anything specific.

    Thank you for your time.

    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Here is a brief update on the Liechtenstein book.

All the needed material has been gathered for Prince and Country - Awards and Medals of Liechtenstein and the proofreading process is currently underway. If the schedule holds, the book will be out before the years end.

Total length is currently 157 pages with 91 images of awards, medals, cases, documents, bestowals and other related topics. Besides the usual brief history there is also background information on Liechtenstein military within the chapter concerning their Long-service awards.

Thank you for your time and I will be in touch when I have a more precise publishing timetable.

      Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am glad to announce that the printing process for the Liechtenstein book has been completed. There are still some final preparations to be made and a sudden illness has also caused some delay. Hopefully everything will be done by late January / early February.

I will keep you posted and thank you for your time.

        Dear Friends and Colleagues,

An event where the first books were to be given out was delayed and it has now been finally rescheduled for the third week of March. Since it was decided that book number 1. should also be given out first, I can't send out any books before this has taken place.

So, the book will be published during the third week of March and will be available via Amazon and other distributors within two weeks (by early April at the latest) of that.

I will make the final update once the books have been sent out. Thank you for your time and patience!
