If you subscribe to "Netflix" I highly recommend the documentary "14 Diaries of the Great War". It's based on actual letters and diaries of mostly soldiers during WWI, from all sides. It is intermixed with real film and reenactments. (the German helmets are a joke) but the content is excellent.
