I've been off the forum for a while afterall its summer time. My dad told me about this new book coming soon. I can't wait to get our copy. So far I'm waiting on the next Harry Potter book 6 and now this book from Frank H.
Holy Cow!, I hope the book is as good as the music Mr.H sent to us. Did you guys know he's a musician/singer? My dad asked me to guess who was singing and all I could think of was Van Halen or Scorpion . . . .but it was Frank! I'm not kidding! My dad says some folks are multi-talented like that, musician, singer, computer guy, now a writer and a publisher. Geeeeeze! I'm worried about the sixth grade, changing classes every period, lockers, and having to dress out for PE.

Dear Erik,
Thank you for the nice words!
What seems to be "multitalent" was indeed just adjusting to the different situations, periods, and predilections in my life. By the time you are 41, you will also have a number of periods in life to look back to and it might be the case that some are connected with a special ability of yours. Sometimes these do not seem to go together well, but in the end, it is all YOU.
The most important thing in life is to gain the ability to analyze things. Once you are good at that, it is your ticket to many fields of specialisation. Do not just stand in awe looking at how good somebody does something. Try to see the "how", the "why", and try to assess how long it could take you to do it. It is pretty normal that we all suck at things when we start out. But if you cracked the "how" and see "why" somebody is good at something, it is only a matter of time until you catch up.
"Der kocht auch nur mit Wasser" is a German saying, meaning "he is also only cooking with water".
I don´t want to spoil you, but if you think singing that way is great, I am sure you can do it too. If you are dedicated and work hard, 2 years at anything will make you stand out from the beginners. Another two years and you will become really good. From that point on, it is only practising.
Your dad might hang me for this, because getting into making music means neglecting a lot of other things. Between say 16 and 26, there is no better way to spend your life. Making music = chicks! The problem is that during exactly that time, the most important part of your education should also take place. Try to see it as equally important as the fun side of life, or you might end up as a geezer who needs to write books on Nazi badges to survive.Cheers, Frank

Dear Frank......
......well said. I am looking forward to the release of your book along with many of the rest of our esteemed membership here and only hope that it will come with an inscription as well.
I would also like to add that it's a pleasure to be associated with others that appreciate the broader spectrum of life that happens to include collecting militaria as just a part of everything.
