KZ Books published by US Holocaust Museum

Any idea of these books are worth it. I don't mind the $150 plus pricetag. I just want to know if anyone has looked through thtese enough to justify their cost.
    Thanx,
    Tim

Has anybody looked at any of them? Is it very dry and full of statistics and is the style of writing engaging and well done?
Some authors can take a great topic and totally destroy iy by their style of writing. Others can take material that is, by definition, more or less boring and create a riveting read.

I have both of the volumes released so far and if it is a topic that you are interested in then they are a must have, providing details on not just the big camps but also the many small sub-camps some of which have not been documented before. And that goes for the volume on the Ghetto's as well. Obviously the size of the entry for each camp/ghetto varies on the information available so some have a few pages of details while others consist of just a few paragraphs. I have attached an image of the entry for the small ghetto of Loknia so you get a taster of the writing style and details. The paper quality is good (don't base the paper quality on the scan as I have had to reduce the size for it to attach so it is a little blurry) and the book also consists of occasional photos and maps.

I have referred to them quite a few times since I have had them, both for myself and others seeking information on this and other forums.

Each Volume is made up of two books and the original plan I believe was to release a volume every two years for a complete set of 9 Volumes but I think that schedule has fallen back a bit.

Yad Vashem also have a 2 volume encyclopedia on the Ghettos available.

Holy Cow! Are these things expensive!
I bought the first two, but yikes!!
          Get out the credit card.

          I also bought:
          Fortress Cholm. 1942. 50th Anniversary Edition. 1992
          and
          The Centurions

Both long out of print and expensive as can be. I got lucky and happened to look at ALIBRIS.COM and got them relatively cheap.

I had also used this website and had bought:
          THE HAND OF CAPTAIN DANJOU
About the French Foreign Legion and their history.
That one was way out of my comfort zone too, but I got lucky (AGAIN!) and picked it up relatively cheaply!
