I watched this lengthy film the other night on CineMoi and thought it was darn good. Takes place in 1809 in Bavaria and Tyrol during the Napoleonic Wars. In German and the Tyrolean dialect with English subtitles. Filmed in 2010.

The struggle of the Tiroler freedom fighters lead by Andreas Hofer was the inspiration to one of Ludwig Uhland's best known poem: "Der gute Kamerad", later on referred by it's partly first sentence: "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden".

You can imagine my interest in these two movies is huge.
