I read the German edition of the book and it's very good. I hope this English edition does it justice.

I've had my copy a few weeks now and just finished it. It's well recommended as a great read.
Lots of personal accounts during the battle showing the futiliy of it all and the appalling conditions the soldiers had to put up with.
