Finally a set of books on German equipment is comming up:
Ausrüstung - Field Equipment of the German Forces in WW2
    By Roly Pickering?

Anyone has advanced knowledge regarding contents, collectors involved etc.?

Nice! Looking forward since the books I already have on equipment don't cover everything.

Roly is a very advanced field gear collector and many other advanced field gear collectors were also involved with this 2-volume series. I think if all goes well they will be available at the Max Show.

              I bought them immediately, great.
These two volumes are really magnificent.
I just found an error. On page 190 of the second volume, the tan webbing lanyard is not german,
but is Italian, for the Beretta M34, used by Italian Army after the war.

The book was also discussed on the equipment forum.
