    Just a heads up.
    These books are available at

    EdwardRHamilton.com

    Vol. 1 item # 4171233
    Vol. 2 item # 4171241

    For $59.95 each plus postage

This is as cheap I have seen them and this is a good book seller.

...and by most accounts more research went into these latest efforts as there is considerably less controversy regarding the content.

I hear they have a killer SS camo and winter-to-spring camo in there

Cody, nice way of saying far fewer bad camos, wires and covers in his latest two volumes.

I was present at one of the helmet photo shoots, as was Perry, John H. and JohnB. Some helmets from all those guys, plus from another friend here in the northeast. Those helmets really made a difference.

Even though I didn't contribute with any of mine, a few of mine made it in there anyhow. Was kinda glad to see one of my camo wire FJs made it on the back cover of the second volume, with about 6 more views inside, even though it was credited to someone who had nothing to do with the helmet. It happens...

Some of the wartime photos of helmeted soldiers are priceless. Worth getting the books just to see them.

I don't. The first two books were awful, just riddled with bad crap. The second two, on camos, are better, but still contain many bad helmets. Unfortunately the author did not call upon the expertise of more knowledgeable collectors enough in the selection process, and The King of British Fakers is having a good laugh at how many of his dog vomit helmets are represented. Willi hit the nail on the head when he mentioned the period photos; they and John B's early green Fallschirmjäger helmet cover are the best parts.

Several of us tried to do a photo shoot in Atlanta last Fall for the latest helmet books by Radovic. There are some outstanding helmet collections in that area. But Schiffer publishing declined, for budget reasons I think.

Nevertheless, some individuals went to great trouble and expense to see quality camos included. I refer here to Ty S. Perry, Barry S. John H. and Chris J.

I asked to be a friendly reviewer of the books before publication, but that was refused. I would have explained to the author the extent to which the UK/US tag team has polluted the camo helmet hobby with fakes. But that was not possible for time constraints.

In any case the period photos in the books are outstanding and Radovic deserves sole credit for that. There are also some rare camos in the books. When I started collecting the available books had poor black and white photos e.g. Baer, Goodapple, Tubbs, Bositch. I would have killed for the photographic detail in the Radovic books on camo helmets.
