The Butcher Of Poland !Biography Of Hans Frank

Having never read a biography of Hans Frank I really looked forward to reading this This was written by Garry O Conner and in my view is a "car crash" of a biography , it goes off in too many directions instead of concentrating on Frank ! The author seems to have an obsession with Thomas Mann and Schopenhaur who s thoughts crop up all through the book ! Snide remarks about cardinal/pope Ratzingers past also crop up !! (whats that got to do with Frank ?) Exerts from Franks nutcase son Nicholas publications are used a plenty and the present vogue as in almost all the leadership are homosexuals --Streicher, Heydrich, Hess,Von Schirach (not mentioned in the biographies I ve read ) Also how Goebbels affair with Barova ended in her being forced to commit suicide ? Ishall keep an eye out for a decent and to the point biography of Frank , this book I m afraid I m not able to recommend at any level ! ps at the bottom of every other page is a printed swastika ,

Thanks for the review. I would be interested in a decent biography of him but that one looks like a typical hatchet job. I think I will give it a miss. Just out of curiosity are there any halfway decent /unpublished photographs in it ? I'd be interested to see the sources used in putting it together.

I was scrolling quickly through the thread on my tablet and thought I saw:

The Butcher of Poland, biography of Ann Frank.

That being said, the book sounds terrible.

Samir , there is "Hans Frank,Hitlers Kronjurist und Generalgouverneur "by Dieter Schenk This sadly for me is in German only but apparently very good .Also there is "Hans Frank,Lebensraum and the Final Solution " by Martyn Housden , which seems to have good reviews and is in English. Both of these books are fiendishly expensive ! Iwould avoid the books written about his father and mother by the lunatic son Nicholas as historically irrelevant

Another book by the same author http://www.amazon.com/Subdued-Fires-...2293296&sr=1-2

                May explain the papal references.

This isn't much help now, but a detailed biographical sketch of Dr. Hans Frank, amounting to about 20 pages of text and with an equal number of photos (some of them unpublished), will appear in my and Andreas Schulz's upcoming Leaders of the Storm Troops, Volume I - Oberster SA-Führer & SA-Stabschef and SA-Obergruppenführer (B – J), to be published by Helion & Co. (release hopefully sometime this year).

                      ~ Mike

I bought "Hans Frank,Lebensraum and the Holocaust". Excellent book ! Well written ,objective and researched , if this is a subject of interest ? I recommend this publication rather than the appalling "Butcher of Poland " rubbish . Downside is as mentioned earlier -- price !
