    Bender Christmas Releases ??

Does anyone have any info on whether Bender Publishing has anything for release for the holiday season? If not, that would three years in a row without anything around holidays.

When things are done with Bender is when they're printed, never by calendar and thank God. It's one of a laundry list of reasons why I won't write for anyone else. So a "general view" of a year gets sidetracked with books not completed before submitted or when authors said they'd be, or constant additions that should have been with the original, etc. There were family events this year that also effected. "Not till it's done, whatever it takes" I adore and admit I literally sent things by e-mail after shipping the boxes with 2 different volumes text print out approved before the boxes got to his office. But I'm sure any reader would rather have the data bits and extra 6 photos sent over being some short period faster printed. As far as turning them in, I've never been off by more than 20 days of completion date I give him 10 months in advance, and that's for all 9 books. But nobody controls the planet no matter how hard we try. If you've ever heard of Murphy's Law, vol. 3 of my series was the incarnate of that.

God bless customs that has become worse in waiting to get products into the country. Not adding or making excuses, simple reality. And am sure the same for anyone printing anything out of (or within) their own country wanting a top quality product. When some publishers take years longer to produce a simple translated text volume than required by the original author to write it, no complaints from me if a couple months behind. Do I get "antsy ? Yes. But nothing beyond that and I'm simply high strung, it's honestly worse for the writer than the readers, the former lives with it birth to release. End stress can be a bit much for complex works. So I emphasize with those who are a topic or author "core supporting" readership, we all want what we want for Christmas regardless of age.

With all that being said, I'm "on deck" as have proofed the text design for both vols 6 and 7 of "German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police" that encompass "Wiking." I expect to see it in January. My wish, more than a Christmas release, if for first larger scale "in person" view of the book which would be the February SOS militara show. For that, volume 7 is over 400 pages with 250 illustrations, the latter being the most of a single volume of the series to date. Aside from illustrations, I think the text is pretty full of new and detailed information too I believe in the first half of 2014 the 2nd volume of the US paratroop books will release as well.

I got my patience lesson this February on my birthday. An overseas call from a female colleague who is a cartographic researcher and does books on a variety of time periods and subjects. Family, how are all, the normal couple times a year conversation topics. And I let in a 30 second rant about something with the GC volume I was working on in frustration. Two weeks later a box arrived from her. In it was 1 old obviously heavily used boxing glove and a blank greeting card. In it she wrote, quote:

"All you ever wanted was to write for Bender. You've actually written more books for him than anyone else and already wrote more books on your topic overall than anyone else. Next time you feel any stupid and unnecessary need to rant, use the enclosed to bitch slap yourself"

Kept the card, it's taped to my PC tower.
