    Book: W. Rogmann Einzelkämpfer d. Leibstandarte Waffen-SS

There was a chapter on Rogmann in the book "With Our Backs to Berlin".

Has anyone had the opportunity to read this book?:

      Likewise.

Has anyone read the German edition?

You can read a bit about Rogmann in Thomas Fischer's nice book Soldiers of the Leibstandarte. I think some of the anecdotal material is unique to the book.

I remember that it's quite a raw, realistic and honest book about the war and how he experienced it. A must read for historians interested in the LAH.

Naturally I read it perfectly well in German, but I recall thinking that it would make quite an impact on the international/English readers and that it's a shame it was only out in German.

The chapter on the battles in Berlin and him being a witness to Mohnke's negotiations with the Russians is also quite a read, if I remember correctly now.

Recommendable and I hope it will come out in English.

Downside: Photos used are all either well known archive, unpublished once and the other (color ones) are all WH and not SS/LAH. - Still, who cares when the content outweights pretty pictures by far.

Seven years have passed since this thread was started, was wondering if there has been any updates on an English version of this book?
