"Tiger in Berlin" by Georg Diers

I was wondering if anyone had read this, and whether or not it is an actual autobiography.
(Diers was a King Tiger tank commander during the Battle of Berlin)

Just to let you know: The owner of that book publishing company is Henrik Ostendorf, a straight neonazi and member of the NPD (National Democratic Party Of Germany). He is also aktiv in the the Bremer Hooligan Scene "Standarte 88"and singer of the Hooligan band "KC-Hungrige Wölfe"

Not sure if his books are telling the truth...

Given that e.g. the first source is obviously a leftist one (since it does not oppose leftist "extremism"), I wonder if that tells the truth. Especially as meeting David Irving is one of his "crimes"...

                Interesting Interview with Georg Dies.
He claims that he had blown up hitlers death body with two tank mines. Never heard this before...

Ok , so the guy who owns the book company is a neonazi.... big ****ing dial... I do not think that geor diers at his age will tell any lies about his recollection during the last days of the battle in berlin... but you never know...just my two cents ...

I don't know if the owner is a "neonazi" or not, bur frankly I could care less. What I care about is reading memoirs from actual soldiers!!!

I don´t think he is telling lies but if you listen to the interview (unfortunatly in German only) you will get a feeling that he still believes in Nazi propaganda (Poland started the war, it´s ok for him that jews had to wear the star of David because the "Judism of the world" had declaired war to Germany in 1933, he knows nothing about German war crimes, he don´t believes in the big crimes in Auschwitz etc. etc.). But anyway it is very interesting to listen but in my opinion it is a very one sided look. Only the others were responsible for war crimes...

Most memoirs are one sided. I'm not going to judge his opinions based on 21th century society, especially since I didn't experience what he went through, and what many of them believed. In the end I want to read real memoirs from soldiers. The more honest they are about their own personal opinions, the better. I don't have to agree with their political views, but I can understand them based on their experiences. That's history.

Very good retort. I totally agree.
