I have spoken with Georg Diers several times but is was nice to see it in writing

Given that e.g. the first source is obviously a leftist one (since it does not oppose leftist "extremism"), I wonder if that tells the truth. Especially as meeting David Irving is one of his "crimes"...Comment

I don´t think he is telling lies but if you listen to the interview (unfortunatly in German only) you will get a feeling that he still believes in Nazi propaganda (Poland started the war, it´s ok for him that jews had to wear the star of David because the "Judism of the world" had declaired war to Germany in 1933, he knows nothing about German war crimes, he don´t believes in the big crimes in Auschwitz etc. etc.). But anyway it is very interesting to listen but in my opinion it is a very one sided look. Only the others were responsible for war crimes...Comment

Most memoirs are one sided. I'm not going to judge his opinions based on 21th century society, especially since I didn't experience what he went through, and what many of them believed. In the end I want to read real memoirs from soldiers. The more honest they are about their own personal opinions, the better. I don't have to agree with their political views, but I can understand them based on their experiences. That's history.Comment
