        I think that we all wanted the story to be true and a resulting treasure trove of Spitfire aircraft to be recovered and restored to flying condition. It did indeed sound too good to be true.

        In hindsight, did the RAF really have infinite resources to leave behind and subsequently bury such a cache of aircraft? Surely that must have been taken into consideration even in the planning stages?

        Disapointing.
