Just received Volume 4 of this excellent series. The aim is to provide information on all German aircraft that crashed on UK soil during WW-2 and so far they are looking like being a must have for those interested in Luftwaffe operations over the UK. The information is taken from period documents and provides details such as location, crew names, photos of the crash site (where possible) and interspersed with intelligence reports on such things like crew morale and tactics. Also included are colour artworks of emblems and aircraft profiles. Obviously the amount of detail provided depends on what information was available but my opinion is that they are well worth the £20 price.

    Volume 1 covers September 1939 to 14th August 1940
    Volume 2 covers 15th August to 29th August 1940
    Volume 3 covers 30th August to 9th September 1940
    Volume 4 covers 10th September to 27th September 1940

What is pleasing is that each volume is paged in such a way so that when the volumes are put together the page numbers run in order so that Volume 1 has pages 1 to 128, Volume 2 has pages 129 to 256 and so on rather than each volume starting at Page 1.

I have a small citations and Flugzeugführerschein set to a pilot in JG-26 and in the latest volume was very pleased to see that his crash entry also included 3 pages of photos and a colour profile of his Me-109.

        Hello,
Has anyone seen volumes 5 and 6 of this series and are they as good as the first 4 volumes?
        Thanks,
        Andy
