Sometime in the next week or so I'm meeting an area bookseller to personally inscribe some copies of "German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police" volume 6. If interested in a personally inscribed and signed copy, contact Jack Hatter of Volume Control and tell him I sent you. He takes all the normal Paypal, etc and also gives a discount on the book copies. His e-mail is:

Best,

German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police, Volume 6, Polizei Division and Police Units: Luger to Wode, Independent Senior SS/Polizei Commanders, by Mark C. Yerger.
This is a one of a kind outstanding biographical study done by the leading SS and Polizei research-historian.
A must have for everyone who is interested in the SS and the Police.
Yerger shows in his book how historical research should be done.
Well and clear written, 319 pages, 115 photos, further on German Cross in Gold recommendations, award documents and information on the recipients.
Majority of photos and illustrations is not published before.
Extra information is provided by 394 footnotes.
Again and again one will find information in his book(s) that is not available elsewhere.
And again his publisher Roger James Bender turned Mark’s thorough research in a very handy sized book, printed on high quality paper and very well bound, making it a superb book.

GC Vol 6
German Cross in Gold, Holders of the SS and Police: Volume 6 by Mark C. Yerger
I picked up a copy at the SOS and immediately skipped to the section on Independent Senior SS and Police Commanders. I have amassed a small collection of documents pertaining to Friedrich Jeckeln and Hans-Adolf Prützmann. So, I was very pleased to see both the outstanding bios and stunning photographs of these two men. The footnotes alone are nearly a entire book worth of material.
Rarely mentioned elsewhere, and as in much detail is the involvement of the Army officers within the Waffen SS. Thankfully Mark added the bio of Army Oberst i.G. Ulrich Ulms who served as the sole Chief of Staff of Korpsgruppe “von Gottberg” from August 1, 1944 to April 16, 1945.
Mark has written another great book for his German Cross in Gold series. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in the history of the Waffen SS or collectors of SS photographs, autographs, documents and uniforms.

No idea how many copies of each volume have been printed but when they are gone they will "stay gone", in terms of the content and value to up and coming folks who wish to learn about the subject matter it will be hard to find a better resource.
I have bought each volume as they have been released and even as "6" has just been released already I look forward to Volume 7.
