Has any one read this? I enjoy personal memoirs, but at $70.00 a pop I'd like to see a review first.

Sounds interesting. The major problem with these books is the translation from German to English--they need to utilize someone whose primary language is English (and preferably American English).

It's a decent book. It is basically a diary, with entries for particular days. Honestly for the most part there isn't much combat in it. Most of the descriptions are basic everyday things, like maintaining the vehicles, ext... The only real good descriptions of combat are towards the end when he wins the Knight's Cross. It is an interesting book, but NO WAY worth 70 dollars!!!

I purchased the book when it first came out several years back. Its in softback, large format. Good book but I would look for it used. About a $25.00 book IMO. Dirk
