    "The War"

    Hi,

Just purchased Krn Burns video documentary "The War" on DVD, after being given a good HMV voucher by my partner for Christmas.
I have seen this (2006?) show on UK tv over several episodes, but never the complete series.
    What a great documentary!
From an American perspective, but quite moving; I would recommend this as an
excellent show for US viewers - and UK persons trying to see an American perspective of the "War"
    Excellent documentary

    Best wishes,

    John

    Hi,

"Over the moon" I spent my HMV voucher so soon after Christmas! In the news on UK TV over the past few days it transpires that HMV has called in the receivers and has gone bankrupt.
The vouchers bought over the Christmas period are now worth nothing, and purchasers will not be recompensed for their loss.
Must be many people in th UK left with many pounds of now worthless vouchers.
    What a recession!

    Best wishes.

    John

Same in Ireland - they sold those Gift vouchers right up to the end (& traditionally do massive numbers over Christmas) knowing full well long n advance that they had no intention of honouring them. Scumbags. I really think the law needs to change in this regard.

        Hi,

        Not too bad!
If the purchasers of vouchers bought them on a card, the recievers will refund your purchase.
So you have to return your gift voucher to the person you received it from, they have to claim on their card isurance; they get the money returned (whenever) and they give the cash back to the person who the gift was intended for!
Takes the "ho-ho-ho-! from a Christmas gift!

        Best wishse,

        John.
