Just wanted to let those that are interested that the second volume of the Ration book has been printed. I recieved my advanced version yesterday and am very pleased with how it turned out. I don't know when it will be at the stores. It is filled with a lot of new information obtained from British Intelligence reports that were published after the war. The price is very reasonable compared to other militaria related references. $36 AT amazon. I would love to hear any feedback good or bad. I'm working on a two Volume series on Personal items and your feedback on my writing style, formatting etc could be helpful. Anyway here are a few pictures of the book. Regards Jim

Hello Jim,
I cant quite read all the contents from your photo,
so I will ask : does your work give information of the various reading materials sent or given to soldiers? For instance I have heard there were books published as military editions some sent in the mail and there were certain books made available internally.
Very interested,
thanks,

michael,
sorry for the poor pics. When I get time I might scan some pages.
THe majority of the intelligence was used by the military to see if German ideas, practices etc could be utilized by the allies. A lot of the information in Volume 2 was obtained in the immediate aftermath of war. This information was captured in order to determine if it could be used by the military and private business, as well as serving as a historical archive.A number of Field Manuals, Technical Manuals , intelligence bulletins were published that contained information on rations. Many of these sources were used in writing both volumes. Hope this answers your question. Jim

Its slowly making its way through the distribution chain. Some folks in the U.S. have told me they have their copies. In Europe it should be available through Amazon as well as specialized book sellers. Its the perfect Christmas gift ha,ha. Jim

Available through your specialist bookshop in London!!
I manage a specialist military, aviation & transport bookshop in London and we had our copies in 2 days ago. We may not be as cheap as amazon selling at RRP as authorised Schiffer stockists but then again we pay UK taxes.
An excellent volume well worth the money where ever you decide to spend it!!
