Gentlemen,

I say we are long overdue for another great German WW2 movie !!

Just watched "Das Boot" for about the 10th time. Such a great movie !
One should watch it. It will give a special meaning to the "Silent Service".

"the forgotton solider" was slated to be filmed 2008-09.
Paul Verhoeven was going to direct.
A script was done and filming was going to take place in poland.
With the down turn in the economy the funding was suspect and it was canceled.
so close ,but probably will never be done.

OMG.... The horror...lol.
The only way any of these get done is with lots of cash and the right connections....We will see....Would be nice to get Hanks' attention..He likes WWII and has the right connections.
But, think the only ones we will see are the low budget projects that get done by these independent guys. There is one about Normandy in the making(see other thread)

I agree!! Great film clip !

We need Mark Yerger to write a new book about all of his correspondence with all of the great Waffen SS soldiers he has known !

It would be an awsome book and movie.
