No comparison, the movie rates very high, Tv show crap.(compared to othe war themed shows)
        Was typical mid 60,s show

Of course all opinions of myself, and others here...snjective to own personal tastes.

            Hello fs:
Not sure what you are asking, but my
favorite TOCH TV episodes were those
            about B-17 aircraft lore.

            OFW
            Episode 18, The Lorelei, 22 January 1965
Stars: Rip Torn as Colonel Royce. Bruce Dern as Lt. Danton.
Also Diana Van der Vlis as Carol, the wife of Colonel Royce.
Colonel Royce is assigned as Deputy Group Commander of the 918th,
he has flown 45 missions. He goes out to meet the "Lorelei" piloted
by Lt. Josephs after the plane lands and taxis in they find all of
the crew dead. Royce takes over the plane with a new crew, on the
first mission, the controls freeze up, the next mission the bomb
release malfunctions. Each time the plane is checked they can find
            nothing wrong.
            and
            Episode 56, Angel Babe, 28 February 1966
Stars: Roddy McDowall as Flight Engineer Willets.
B-17 "Angel Babe" is returning from a perfect mission. Flight
Engineer Willets explains that when "Angel Babe" leads they always
come home safe. On the ground Major Stovall waits with a team from
the Public Relations Office who are filming the plane which has
completed its 49th mission. They want to take the plane back to
the States for a promotional tour as it will soon be the first in
the Eight Air Force to complete 50 missions.

                  TOCH props ???

I always liked both the TOCH movie & TV show props.
Especially the 20th Century Fox made up 918th Bomb
Group's Robin Hood or Dick Turpin toby mug as used in the
Officer's club fire place scenes. The real movie prop mug,
was said to have been the prized possession of the Frank
Armstrong family, but fell victim to theft in the early 90s
and has not been seen since. Replica mugs are still in
                  production and available elsewhere online.

                  OFW
(below) the TOCH mission status Toby mug.

Cold War Son Of TOCH ...

Also one of my favorites is "A Gathering of Eagles", a now
classic Cold War movie, much like "Twelve O'Clock High",
as the same producer-screenwriter Sy Bartlett also wrote it.

                    OFW
(below) The movie prop flag of the "AGOE" fictional 904th
Strategic Aerospace Wing stationed at Carmody Air Force
Base near San Francisco. Flag is seen in the headquarters
office below then President John F. Kennedy's photo, who
actually had a real life role during the filming, as SAC personnel
were dealing with Russian Nikita Khrushchev's introduction
in Cuba of nuclear ballistic missiles. This film was followed in
1964 by the likewise Cold War classic movies Dr. Strangelove
and Fail-Safe , but this film is unique as it was actually made
at Beale Air Force Base, in California, using their facilities, B-52
aircraft, missile sites, and personnel of the real 456th Strategic
Aerospace Wing. Now answer that red phone !!!
