    new book release/ Shadow Divers

Picked it up in the morning, blew thru it by the afternoon.
About a couple guys discovered an unknown U-boat off the coast of
Jersey. Quite an insight to the cut-throat world of deep wreck divers.
Learned as much as I want to know about deep mixed gas diving &
crawling into tight deadly spaces, but it kept my attention. Risked
their lives many times to enter the wreck, then got the heebie-jeebies
about fannin around in the silt to look for artifacts. True, it's a war
grave, but the Andria Doria & the titanic are graves too & the've been
outright plundered. I really liked the book, was well written.

The book is based upon a NOVA episode @4 years ago. I was on again @2 years ago. Quite good.

I saw the NOVA eposoide and was intrigued by it. I was waiting to hear some reviews on the book before I went out and bought it. I think I heard it is #4 on the NY best seller list right now.

There was an interview with the author on NPR. You can listen to it by logging on to the website. Also, the NOVA episode did not mention the bodies that the divers found.

Do you mean there are people on this forum who haven't read this book! What a disgrace! In all seriousness....Kurston's book is the best I have ever read. Then again, I'm a wreck diver but I think other non-divers will really enjoy this compelling, nail-biting story.

Kurston told me in an email that those bodies were not recovered as of a few years ago.

Now, go get the book! Eric

I completely agree with Eric. There are very few books that I can't put down, this was one. It was a compelling read and really should be made into a movie. Buy this book!
