    "Soldat" series worth buying?

Any opinions on the " Soldat" series of books by Cyrus Lee ? I believe they were published in the early 90's, and seem to sell in the $15.00- $20.00 range.
Are they of any serious use, or outdated, etc.? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bob,

Have a look at this thread, where I gave my response to a similar question.

I've got them, not brilliant, repetitive and poor photographs unfortunately.

I'd recommend firstly this fairly recent publication:
        http://www.amazon.co.uk/Deutsche-Sol.../dp/1932033963

The above is not an exhaustive collection but it is a good guide. If you can get them the James Bender books on Unforms and Traditions of the German Army (3 volumes) are still worth their weight in gold.

You can never have too many books!

        Regards,
        Simon.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. Actually, I already have a pretty good reference library, including " Deutsche Soldaten". I believe I will pass on the "Soldat" series.

Save your money. I wouldn't use any of the books in the series as a reference in making a decision as to whether an item is a period piece or a reproduction.
