    Dietrich Maerz - D&B Publishing

    Hello all,

Would anyone critique and express their opinions about the books by Dietrich Maerz as 'B&D' Publishing?

I am interested in a few of his books and also his quarter annual medal magazine entitled "International Medal Collector" but some seem to be a bit pricey.

I am specifically interested in his work 'The German Cross' priced at $130.00, The Iron Cross 1st priced at $150.00 and The Knights Cross priced at $120.00 which as I say are a bit pricy and before buying I would like some feedback about quality, authority and content.

However, I realize that this is 2011 and there are no more books at $19.95. I just don't want to be buying another of the typical plagiarized books and copied photos.

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks very much.

    Put it this way.
Buy a fake EK1 or DKIG ... what will that cost you?

Dietrich's books have surpassed the usual status quo "picture book" with a "Technical and Documented Proof" series.
Forget the old antiquated rumors and speculations that have fostered in the hobby for decades. Back it up with period documented evidence. That's what is offered in his series of books from the RK-DKIG-EK1 (so far).

      Darrell,

I understand and certainly appreciate the value of education and the cost of the lack of.

My posting is for the inquiry of the quality and authority of his books and as I pointed out not necessarily about the cost if worthwhile.

      Thanks for your thoughts.

Second to none. I have them all and the quality of the binding and pages to the quality of the work (research and documented results) has not been equaled on these topics at this time. You can look at many dealers sites today. Not only do they sell his books, but they refer to those works in reference to specific examples of the crosses they are selling.

The most important reference books are usually put on my desktop bookshelf instead in my bigger library. Maerz's book series are some of these in my desktop bookshelf.

                chen,

As yourself, I am seriously in need of additional book lodging.

Thanks for your views of both your thoughts and your library.
