    The World At War

    I've always been a huge fan of the early 1970s "World At War" series. As I watched it this afternoon about the post war year, I saw a young man commenting on Germany of 1945, he had shoulder length hair, was American, and looked and sounded somewhat familiar to me. It wasn't till they showed his name and Historian title that I realized it was Stephen Ambrose.

    I noticed him when watching one of the episodes too.

    Definately looked like a man of the 70's.

      Yes it was him. Have a look at his wikipedia, he allegedly made some errors on that documentary

        Hi,

        I think the largest error he made was describing WW2 as "The European Civil War"!
        I hope most Americans do not think of Europe as a single country.
        All the countries in Europe are individual in culture and language, and to suggest that they are a group similar to the various states of America was both uninformed - and to me very patronising.
